DIRECTOR OF SALES AND MARKETING

 

The Somerset Patriots of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball are seeking a Director of Sales and Marketing to generate revenue through selling sponsorships, season ticket packages, and group tickets and to assist with daily marketing duties of the team.

 Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • On going solicitation of corporations and organizations to secure Marketing Partnerships, Group Ticket sales, and Season Ticket sales
  • Manage assigned business accounts to maximize potential revenue
  • Service, Maintain, and Renew accounts from year to year
  • Develop new and creative ways to market the Patriots
  • Help manage the sales team, track sales inventory and budgets, and take a lead in weekly sales meetings
  • Work and perform assigned event night duties at all Patriots Home Games and other Ballpark events as assigned
  • Be available to work Non-Patriots events at the ballpark as assigned

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of outside sales experience (preferably in the sports industry, and this does NOT include retail sales experience)
  • Experience selling professional sports sponsorship packages is preferred
  • Ability to solicit new business on an on going basis through cold calling and face to face appointments
  • Ability to create professional sales proposals
  • Ability to execute presentations on a sales call
  • Knowledge of and experience with promotional sales, corporate sponsorship, advertising & special events is a must
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership, organizational and computer skills
  • A flexible work schedule including nights, weekends and holidays

Salary is commensurate with experience and includes a base salary plus commissions.  401 K Plan and Health Benefits are also available.

Sales Manager - Sugar Land Skeeters (Sugar Land, TX)

SALARY DEPENDENT ON EXPERIENCE

SUMMARY 
The Sales Manager focuses on group and sponsorship sales and is directly responsible for retaining and growing revenue from both group sales and new season ticket sales, as well as new and renewal sponsorship.  The execution is to be action-based, creative, focused, organized and responsive. Working directly with the GM, the Sales Manager will develop and execute their own personal business plan. 

Responsibilities:
•    Provide Customer Service to existing sponsorship accounts by visiting with the accounts throughout the season and off-season to ensure personalized, continual contact.
•    Grow sponsorship revenue streams through renewals and new sales.
•    Set Appointments over the phone with corporate decision makers, with a certain number of appointments per week as a goal for success in the position.
•    Deliver the Sponsorship sales presentations on appointments with company decision-makers.
•    Sell and develop Suite inventory.
•    Assist in the creation and implementation of consumer and business-to-business-based promotions
•    Maintain Database and add new database leads.
•    Prospect for quality leads.
•    Visit with accounts and maintain and develop relationship with sponsorship clients.
•    Assist in growing Events and Ticketing Revenues, including selling these inventories as necessary.

Required Qualifications:
•    Strong ability to communicate
•    Drive, determination, and a strong work ethic
•    Willingness and ability to listen and learn
•    Willingness and ability to work long hours, including weekends and holidays as business needs indicate
•    Bachelor’s Degree plus 2-3 years of prior experience in a similar role
•    Previous sales experience with a sports organization

A top candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to balance multiple projects, meet deadlines and communicate effectively and frequently in a flexible and quick moving environment.
