The Operations Future Openings post covers 2 main areas of business across the Atlantic League and its teams: Stadium Operations and Groundskeeper. 1.       Stadium Operations

Individual is responsible for ensuring that all events at our stadium operate effectively and presents an outstanding product in a clean, friendly and efficient environment.  Individual must have strong management skills, be organized, energetic, enthusiastic, and creative in leading the club and its ballpark towards its operational objectives.


  • Assume management responsibility for all services and activities involved in maintenance and operations, including HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, chillers, refrigeration, ice making, boilers and associated equipment.
  • Select, train, motivate and evaluate game day staff
  • Plan, direct, coordinate, and review the work plan for facility maintenance and operations
  • Participate in the development and administration of the Operations budget; forecast of additional funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies; monitor and approve expenditures; implement adjustments as necessary.
  • Direct and monitor the work of contractors, engineers, and architects on building projects.
  • Order supplies and materials for maintenance programs within budget guidelines; receive and maintain supplies.

2.       Groundskeeper

This position is responsible for the overall upkeep and maintenance of the playing field. The groundskeeper is responsible for providing a field that complies with the specifications and high quality and safety standards, set forth by The Atlantic League of Professional Baseball and Minor League Baseball


  • Maintain all field preparations, including but not limited to turf management, fertilization, edging, base area, home plate and mound preparation, warning track maintenance, and infield surface maintenance.
  • Prepare the playing field for practice on game days and facilitate the set-up and breakdown of all equipment, including batting cage, screens, turf mats.
  • Prepare the field in a high quality and efficient manner in order to achieve the daily practice and pre-game schedule.
  • Oversee all tarp placement and post-game field and turf maintenance as necessary and monitor weather conditions to protect the field as needed.
  • Responsible for maintenance of all high quality equipment in order to extend the useful life to minimize repair and replacement costs.
  • Prepare and perform off-season field maintenance and stadium program.
  • Assist the Stadium Operations Manager with various stadium operation duties related to the upkeep of Campbell's Field

Stadium Operations: Facility/Venue Management
Stadium Operations Intern - Bridgeport Bluefish (Bridgeport, CT)

The Stadium Operations Intern will assist the Bridgeport Bluefish with daily operations at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard on both game days and non-game days. Candidates will also assist with outside events including planning, setup, and take down of the event, as well as bring in new clients for events. Candidates must live within commuting distance or live in general area, long hours and weekends are normal during the season. Excellent organizational, time management and communications skills are required.


·         Assisting in maintaining the cleanliness throughout the ballpark (dugouts, suites, and concourse)

·         Assisting with covering the field with the tarp when needed for inclement weather

·         Maintain front landscaping areas

·         Setup of inflatables, concourse tables, batting practice equipment

·         Assist in areas of game day staff when needed (usher, ticket taker, suite attendant, etc.)

·         Running through daily checklist to ensure all tasks are completed before games

·         Other duties as assigned

The Bridgeport Bluefish are accepting resumes for our summer internship program for the 2017 season. The position will start immediately and last through September, or the end of the baseball season.

This is an excellent opportunity for a college grad or current college student who wants to get into the sports industry in a position with growth potential. Interns are treated as full-time members of the front office staff with the understanding that the Bluefish believe that they are cultivating the future work force of the industry.

The Bluefish are looking for an aggressive personality to handle multiple responsibilities. The successful candidate will learn all aspects of running a professional franchise, such as: sales, marketing, operations, ticketing, customer service, and more. We are looking for “Work-A-Holics” that aren't afraid to work long hours and get their hands dirty. Prospective candidates will be asked to note their preferred choice of position when applying, however, the Bluefish will ultimately decide the position to offer you that best suits your skills and our needs.

Compensation: $500 per month or College Credit


·         College graduates or current students preferred

·         Must have local housing and transportation to and from the ballpark

·         Must be self-motivated and hard working, with the ability to multi-task and work well in a team setting

·         Must have excellent customer service skills and the ability to interact easily with fans and members of the community

·         Required to work all Bluefish home games and special events including nights, weekends, and some holidays

·         Must have the ability to work flexible hours

·         Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe programs is a plus

Grounds/Field Crew Intern - Sugar Land Skeeters (Sugar Land, Tx)

About the Sugar Land Skeeters:

The Sugar Land Skeeters play at Constellation Field, a state-of-the-art stadium located in Sugar Land – just 20 minutes from downtown Houston.  The Skeeters play 140 regular season games in the Atlantic League, considered the highest level of Minor League Baseball.  The Skeeters have drawn over 2 million fans in the first four seasons of play in the Atlantic League.

About the position:

The grounds crew assists the Head Groundskeeper in such areas as:

  • Infield skin maintenance
  • Mound and home plate repair
  • Mowing and sod work
  • Working remaining home Skeeters games, as well as tournaments
  • Landscape upkeep: trimming, weeding, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Highly motivated, with the ability to work well in stressful situations
  • Some experience in general lawn care, preferably in the sports field setting
  • Ability to work all Skeeters games (, as well as any special events held at Constellation Field
  • Ability and willingness to work long hours
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs or more; this is a physically taxiing position
