Marketing: Graphic Design/Creative Services
Creative Services Coordinator - Southern Maryland Blue Crabs (Waldorf, MD)

The Blue Crabs seek an individual who will be responsible for all Southern Maryland Blue Crabs creative services preparation and execution. This includes preparing slides, videos, and graphics for the video board, as well as operating the video board during games. This also includes being the master designer of all Blue Crabs advertising materials and collateral all while keeping with the brand of the franchise. The candidate will also be responsible for the development of video production for both in-game and promotional use.

This position will provide hands-on experience in video production and graphic design. The candidate will have the ability to develop promotional videos for game day and website use. He or she will also be expected to design flyers, slides, and a wide variety of graphic design projects. The ability to create animated graphics is beneficial. The candidate will also work as part of the Marketing Department by assisting with theme night plans for the season.

The ideal candidate must also have experience in video production/editing, live feed, audio production, as well as graphic design. The ability to complete projects independently and creativity are extremely important for this position, as well as the ability to meet deadlines. The ideal candidate is also a "creative thinker", who can take initiative and develop their own creative ideas for new or existing projects.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Create all advertising materials and collateral in keeping with the brand of the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs as duties and timing set by the  General Manager
  • Responsible for all aspects of “Game Day” presentation and fan interaction inside of the stadium
  • Creates first-class entertainment features to ensure Blue Crabs fulfillment and fan enjoyment
  • Devise new and creative in-game promotions, video pieces, fan interactive elements, mascot skits, etc.
  • Utilize the newest technologies to create entertainment features that become best in class
  • Scripts graphics, message boards, marquees and all video board features
  • Hire and supervise all part-time press box employees
  • Manage relationships with vendors and suppliers including sound and video suppliers, prop suppliers, and manufacturers, etc.
  • Work in conjunction with corporate partnerships to develop creative in-game and destination area entertainment to satisfy partner and organization goals
  • Interact with all departments to contribute to the development and implementation of marketing and sales campaigns through in stadium promotion
  • Must have working knowledge of all equipment and software in the Production Room, and be able to operate as Video Director 

Minimum Role Requirements

  • College degree and at least one year of experience in professional baseball marketing

Working Conditions

  • A minimum 40 hour week and 8 hour Monday-Friday work schedule is required of all full time employees during the off-season. This schedule will include some weekend hours for special events as determined by the General Manager.
  • Work hours during the baseball season will exceed 60 hours per week and 12+ hours per day on game days including evenings and weekends. The baseball season work schedule may also include 7 or more consecutive work days.
  • Physical Demands will require the employee to stand, walk, sit, use hands, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk and hear.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities of the job include close vision, distance and peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is normally exposed to normal indoor air-conditioned temperatures as well as exposure to the sun.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually low where hearing protection is not necessary based on OSHA requirements. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Ticket Sales & Service: Ticket Sales Management
Director of Sales - Southern Maryland Blue Crabs (Waldorf, MD)

The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs play in the Atlantic League in Waldorf Maryland, a suburb of Washington, DC 30 Miles from the Nation’s Capital.  The $26 Million Regency Furniture Stadium features 16 suites, 3,200 fixed seats, and multiple picnic and entertainment venues. As part of Charles County Maryland’s development the ballpark serves as a key component in enhancing growth in the county while providing fun, affordable, family entertainment to fans in Waldorf and beyond.

We are eager to add talented, idea-oriented, aggressive sales professionals to work within our departmentalized sales force and provide them with the most stimulating, rewarding and enjoyable career in minor league sports.

Management Position Responsibilities:

*       Create & execute strategic sales goals/targets with Team ownership and management

*       Coordinate weekly and overall sales goals with General Manager of Team

*       Sales organization & management as it pertains to all ticket sales operations

*       Supervision, hiring and training of sales staff

*       Manage all season & group ticket printing

*       Preparation of all ticket sales game reports

*       Reconciliation with each sales report

*       Implementation of all sales and follow-up programs

*       Maintain a viable customer and prospect database. Oversee CRM system

*       Manage and oversee all ticket sales financial reporting

*       Develop, implement & execute all ticket sales training as well as all custom ticket programs.

*       Coordinate with Food & Beverage manager for all hospitality needs.

*       Maintain & update an accurate hospitality & seating location calendar

*       Verify that all hospitality areas are set up in advance of gates opening

*       Oversee all youth programs (sports & social clubs)

*       Other various tasks as needed

General Position Responsibilities:

*       Develop new business via phone and in-person appointments

*       Conduct client needs assessment

*       Customer sales presentations and proposals

*       Sales and fulfillment of Nightly Luxury Suites, Group Hospitality Areas, Season Ticket and Mini-Plan Packages

*       Sales and fulfillment of Group Sales, Corporate Ticket Sales, Youth Sports / Team Sales, Non-Profit Group Sales, Fundraising, events, and programs

*       Sales and fulfillment of Corporate Sponsorships with both National & Local accounts

*       Represent the organization at business, community and networking functions

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in sport management or related field
